is worth multiple billions of dollars Larry is one of the few exceptions to the rule Larry's a pretty smart dude he's been very successful in business and it's possible that he knows things that Tesla believes and that Elon Musk believes and or has said that aren't publicly disclosed so the question I have if Larry Ellison is confident that Tesla full self-driving will be solved sometime next year as in within the next 12 months why is this his best guess just an educated guess or has he been talking talking to Elon or both if this was just some random schmuck I wouldn't pay a whole lot of attention but this is elon's bestie a massive tester shareholder and also a very smart man and now from a very smart man to a very average man coincidentally even I think that Tesla Robo taxis will be happening sometime next year as you guys will probably know this estimate has been in my Tes evaluation model since I first published it in 2021 the date has remained the same but my confidence level in that prediction has massively increased especially on the back of the new rewrite of FSD V12 with no heuristics purely trained on video end to end so Larry believes the tesoroba taxis begin department or multiple police departments to utilize Tesla cyber trucks as future police vehicles and they'll be handling the interface software cloud services and so on this is a real project and bro what could possibly be more badass than a cyber truck police vehicle can you imagine when some of the chase scenes start appearing you know those who flee in a vehicle police chase imagine that with a cyber truck in Pursuit viral police chase videos with cyber trucks alone will probably sell many hundreds of thousands of cyber trucks over the long term but it among other things it's uh very safe very fast it's got a stainless steel stainless steel body and we don't have to add a screen to it because or we don't have to add cameras to it because we already we actually use their existing cameras and their existing screen to put our application uh our application our uh uh up for people in the in the Tesla vehicles you can use a non-tesla vehicle and we can enhance it or you can use it votes of all of these unionized Automotive workers is now getting involved so as I've mentioned recently I kind of thought it would be Tesla inadvertently bankrupting Legacy Automotive companies but if the United Auto Workers Union has their way they're going to be ones that put forward General Motors and stalantis out of business Carl we are going to see more strikes starting at noon today strength will be for GM at their parts and distribution centers around the country all of them 38 of them located in 20 States will walk off the job at noon today the interesting decision here to do the parts and distribution centers as opposed to an assembly plant or a major component assembly shop is that this is one of the areas where they believe they can inflict some pain on the automakers because if you don't have the parts being shipped to the dealers to other locations that really limits your ability to continue manufacturing and filling out your entire supply chain this is going to be absolutely catastrophic the Detroit three when they can lease the forward to be bleeding money when they were already a decade plus behind Tesla already facing likely bankruptcy attempting to transition to evaze and survive you have the UAW trying to kill them imagine an automotive company is a human being how long can a human last if you turn off a vital organ the hint would be in the term vital turn off the heart not going to last long lungs not going to last long brain go on any individual system is necessary for the whole this is going to be disastrous for the Legacy auto companies it's also going to force them to lay off a ton of employees we are looking at 38 UAW represented parts and delivery centers for General Motors and solances collectively 38 in 20 states where those workers will be walking off the job at noon one last note as we reported earlier Carl Sean Payne did talk about progress being made with Ford that's why we have not heard about more strikes impacting Ford uh he didn't he also went to Great Lakes guys to say they're not all the way there with Ford so it's not as though you know we expect a contract to be reached within the next couple of days but that is the update regarding the UAW and further strikes today now you guys know a presidential election is forthcoming in the U.S right exactly so if you just so happen to want to buy some salary any guesses would you be surprised to know the total compensation for UAW workers folks working at four General Motors Etc even in entry-level positions is more than six figures a year because that is a fact call me crazy but six figures of compensation for a job that I hate to say it anyone could learn how to do actually sorry anyone at least within a standard deviation of average intelligence could learn how to do it's not exactly super specialized work that only a few people say for example autistic Savant Geniuses could do like theoretical physics no offense to the theoretical physicists out there but you know it's true call me crazy but I think they're being remunerated pretty generously as it is here's the point it'd be nice if everyone could get paid more and have more benefits and more time off and all that other wouldn't it be nice but we live in what's known as reality or at least a convincing version of reality via a simulation there are commercial realities here companies like four General Motors and stalantis have razor thin margins they cannot afford to pay their workers more money they're barely getting by as it is and this is before the EV transition is factored in what's ultimately going to end up happening is employees who are striking for significantly higher pay instead of getting their pay increase which they might get for a short period of time will ultimately end up getting a 100 pay decrease because they'll either be fired or the company they work for will go bankrupt in case you don't know actions have consequences example number one almost immediately after the very first UAW induced strike Ford was forced to lay off 600 employees at its Michigan Assembly Plant next minute General Motors lays Off 2 000 workers let's see what this spec Lord himself has to say this from chamath palahapatia the unions have decided to cut their noses off despite their face this labor deal if it happens will destroy the Legacy OEM automakers they're only passed out would be to automate and replace unionized people all with robots or they're unionized now jamatha's right by the way I highly recommend you guys and girls if you'd like to understand a little bit more about the concept that actions have consequences check out some writings by Thomas Soule an absolute G you know what happens when an insane state for example massively increases the minimum wage companies go we can't afford that we will have to stop employing people and figure out a way not to employ them next minute they get replaced with robots or the businesses close down people think that raising the minimum wage helps low-income people it doesn't it prevents them from being able to work period because companies can't afford to pay them what they're not worth therefore they don't they automate they replace and so on again these UAW members all have total compensation in the six figure range as it is Jamal continues neither are possible so if this plan gets implemented expect the automakers to bleed money or they will this is the Tipping Point towards structural long-term insolvency AKA they're going bankrupt he's right and I don't see how the capital Capital markets will allow these oems to raise long-term capital without paying exorbitant rates again he's right who the in the right mind would lend money to a company that's obviously going bankrupt on top of this the demand risk for these oems is that hyper automated and non-unionized competitors like Tesla can now completely run away with the car market because they will be able to aggressively lower prices while Ford stillantus Etc will be forced to raise prices to pay for this labor deal he ain't wrong Gene Munster also has some thoughts as the UAW stripe wraps up its fourth day FYI this tweets now four or five days old and more than a week in now it's more clear that Tesla is the winner Ford said if the UAW get what they want the uow related labor costs will double to what I estimate will be about 136 dollars per hour all in take a moment ladies and gentlemen 136 bucks an hour times 40 hours a week times 50 weeks per year total comp all costs all in which doesn't just include salary but benefits as well it's not take home doesn't matter it still costs the company the same amount 200 and seventy two thousand dollars last week I estimated it ended up close to 80 an hour I now believe it will land at 105 an hour a 64 increase from pre-strike levels so again let's do the math on that 105 times 40 hours times fifty two hundred and ten thousand dollars per employee to uh assemble Vehicles again no offense I wouldn't want to do that all day but that's a lot of money I mean there are only fans thoughts making a fraction of that money ruining their lives and their Futures I'm just kidding boss you don't need no man the reason why the percentage increase is more than the projected 30 hourly wage increase is the total package includes pension plans who's going to pay the pension plans when they go bankrupt inflation protection and profit sharing my updated math suggests Tesla's labor costs will be 48 lower than the big three after they come to terms with the UAW and after Tesla's employees get a 15 bump likely in the next six months last week I estimated Tesla would emerge with a cost structure 30 below the big three now I believe it will be 48 below so check this out Gene's estimates The Big Three currently fully loaded hourly wage which includes pensions profit sharing Etc 64 bucks for the big three Tesla 47 and after the uaw's insane demands and presuming an increase for tensor employees as well because why not 105 for the big three and Tesla at 55 practically half the cost so uh rest in peace Detroit automakers once again actions have consequences so it's official cyber truck police vehicles coming soon cannot wait and Larry Ellison seems quite confident that the robo taxis will be Awakening next year thanks the UAW are intent on accelerating the Detroit automakers bankruptcy as chamath palapatia points out if you demand more pay then a you are worth and or B your employee can afford to pay you one way or another your employer will not be paying you what you demand because you'll either be replaced or fired or the company you previously worked for will file for bankruptcy I personally think if the UAW had any sense at all and wasn't just trying to Pander to its actual members and instead cared about its members it would actually be doing the reverse and negotiating pay decreases just to ensure that
